  "It" is a horror movie that follows the conventions of the supernatural horror genre. The film features elements of a terrifying creature, eerie and atmospheric settings, and a group of characters dealing with unexplainable events. One convention of the genre that I appreciated in "It" was the use of jump scares. The movie effectively built tension and then delivered shocking moments that left the audience on the edge of their seats. The use of dark, ominous lighting and unsettling music also added to the overall creepy atmosphere of the film. Another convention that worked well in "It" was the exploration of the unknown and the unexplained. The group of protagonists embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious entity terrorizing their town, drawing in the audience as they uncover chilling secrets. However, one convention of the supernatural horror genre that did not appeal to me in "It" was the reliance on graphic and gory imagery. While some viewers may enjoy this aspect, I found it to be overly gratuitous and distracting from the suspenseful storytelling."It" successfully incorporates many conventions of the supernatural horror genre to create a spine-tingling and suspenseful experience, but some elements may not appeal to all audiences. If I were to make a film in this genre, I would take inspiration from "It" in creating tension and atmosphere, but I would approach the use of graphic violence with more restraint.
